Thoughts for today...


  1. Without a single word spoken, and in a moment already heavy with sadness, he left — and did not return. The silence that followed has now been broken by quiet moaning, and soon even that will fade as he moves on.

  2. She said, “You’re doing the right thing.” But what does she truly know about the right thing? She has never carried the weight of being a parent.
  3. As Ward Cleaver once said, “Wrong is wrong and right is right no matter how many people are doing it.” Today’s culture would do well to remember those words.
  4. Apparently, I missed a payment. A payment for what? No services had been rendered.
  5. A friend accused me of being “bossy.” I thought I was simply being assertive.
  6. For the second year in a row, I’ve been blessed with an office space that remains unused.
  7. I messed up… again. Perhaps that is God’s way of keeping me humble — and He knows I need it.
  8. A friend passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026. My niece passed away one week later, on Friday, July 24, 2026. I mourn, I celebrate, and I rejoice in their lives, trusting they are now in a better place.
  9. I considered applying for a loan or line of credit. I qualified for $1,500 — but the APR was nearly 64.14 percent. I canceled immediately.
  10. And now, my son — diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disability (ID), and Schizophrenia — is preparing to leave for a group home on Monday, August 3, 2026. I am not happy about it, but I will not stand in the way. If it helps him, then God’s will be done.
In his "Daily Anchor: Hell Is Other People," (July 27, 2026), Chris Stefanick, founder of "Real Life Catholic," says this, "...the next time someone's glaring and annoying flaw is staring you in the face, make a decision to thank God for three good things about him or her." That is Chris's challenge for the day. Thinking about that one person, can you thank God for three "good things" about him or her?

I have a lunch meeting at IHOP today.


The stage is almost set. All the pieces are beginning to come together. We give God all the glory for this year's awards. We have seven (7) awardees total: (3) Special Recognition, and (4) 2026 CANO Honorees. Gary C., our Director of Business Operations, and I have been developing our CANO Award muscles with all the heavy lifting we have been doing since the green light was given to move forward with this event. The motto for this year's awards is: "Back To God!" The motif or theme for this year is "south of the border!" This year's dinner will be catered by "Chimi's Mexican Restaurant located on 15th Street. This year's Keynote Speaker is Rev. Leo Ahanotu, Pastor of St. Patrick Catholic Church (Sand Springs), and Our Lady of the Lake (Mannford). If you did not purchase your tickets before the end of June, then you will be missing a wing ding of an event. We cannot wait to honor the 2026 CANO Award Honorees and those receiving Special Recognition.

  Today's Facebook Post: Christmas Day is three days away not counting today. Come, sweet Jesus! Dentist says I need a crown. Yep! That is what I wanted for Christmas. Not!   God first. Neighbor second. Self third. Every now and then, a simple phrase carries the weight of the whole Gospel. “ God first. Neighbor second. Self third. ” It’s short enough to fit on a sticky note, but deep enough to reorder a life. Putting God first doesn’t mean adding more to our to‑do list. It means letting Him be the center of everything we already do. It’s the quiet decision to pray before reacting, to choose honesty over convenience, to ask, “Lord, what do You want from me in this moment” instead of letting our impulses lead the way.
